Understanding Inactive Learners

A learner is considered inactive when they have five or more consecutive overdue activities.

Inactive learners are typically individuals who have not been participating in learning for an extended period.

Why Inactive Learners Matter

Inactive learners can affect the practice mission score, since engagement reflects participation across all learners in the practice.

If someone remains listed but is no longer participating, their inactivity may lower the overall score and make it harder to understand how the active team is performing.

Where to View Inactive Learners

Practice managers can review inactive learners in the Inactive Learners section on the My Practice page.

This view helps identify team members who may need support or follow-up.

What Managers Can Do

Once inactive learners are identified, managers can decide the most appropriate next step.

Possible actions include:

  • Reaching out to the learner to help them resume participation
  • Confirming whether learning should remain enabled for that user
  • Updating the learner list if someone is no longer part of the practice

Keeping the learner list accurate helps ensure the practice mission score reflects the participation of the current, active team.
