What Is Practice Mission Score?

The practice mission score reflects how consistently learners across a practice are completing their assigned activities during a mission.

It provides a quick view of overall team engagement and helps indicate whether the team is staying up to date with learning.

How Practice Mission Score Works

Each learner receives an individual mission score based on how up to date they are with their assigned activities.

The practice mission score reflects the combined engagement of all learners in the practice.

When most learners are completing activities consistently, the practice score remains high. When multiple learners fall behind, the score may decrease.

What the Practice Score Indicates

The practice mission score helps answer:

  • Is the team keeping up with learning?
  • Are there learners who may need support?
  • Is participation consistent across the practice?

It is best used as a high-level signal, rather than a detailed performance measure.

What Can Affect the Practice Score

Several factors can influence the practice mission score.

Overdue Activities

When learners have overdue activities, their individual scores decrease, which can lower the overall practice score.

Gaps in Participation

If some learners are consistently completing activities while others are not, the practice score may reflect that inconsistency.

Inactive Learners

Learners who have five or more consecutive overdue activities may be considered inactive.

If they remain part of the practice, their lack of participation may impact the overall score.

Viewing Scores by Location

If your practice includes multiple locations, you can view engagement at a more detailed level.

On the Learning Analytics page, you can use filters to:

  • View mission scores by location
  • Compare engagement across different sites
  • Identify where support may be needed

Supporting a Strong Practice Score

Practice managers can support engagement by:

  • Encouraging learners to complete their weekly activity
  • Checking for overdue activities across the team
  • Reviewing inactive learners periodically
  • Keeping the learner list up to date

Many teams support participation by:

  • Mentioning the weekly activity during team meetings
  • Sending reminders
  • Discussing topics briefly during team huddles

Recognizing participation—such as consistent completion or certificate milestones—can also help reinforce engagement.

If someone is no longer part of the practice, or is not expected to participate in learning, keeping their account active may affect the practice score.

In these cases, you may consider:

  • Updating the learner list to reflect current staff
  • Turning off learning for users who are not expected to participate

For step-by-step guidance, see Managing Users and Learning Settings.

Even small improvements in participation across the team can have a meaningful impact on the overall practice score.
