How Protoqual Helps Practices Earn More 5-Star Reviews

Many patients search online reviews when choosing a healthcare provider. Protoqual helps practices build a a stronger online reputation by making it easier for satisfied patients to share their experiences publicly.

The system works by connecting patient surveys with review invitations.

Step 1: Patients Complete a Survey

After a visit, patients may receive a survey asking about their experience.

One of the key questions asks how likely they are to recommend the provider or practice. This question uses Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Patients respond on a scale from 0 to 10.

Step 2: Promoters Are Identified

Patients who respond with a 9 or 10 are considered promoters, meaning they had a very positive experience.

When a promoter is identified, Protoqual may invite the patient to share their experience publicly.

Step 3: The Patient Is Invited to Leave a Review

Promoter patients may see a message asking if they would like to leave a review on Healthgrades.

If they choose to continue, they are directed to the provider’s Healthgrades page where they can submit their review.

Patients always have the choice whether or not to leave a public review.

Why This Approach Works

Instead of asking every patient for a public review, Protoqual focuses on patients who have already shared very positive feedback.

This helps:

  • Increase the likelihood of positive reviews
  • Ensure reviews reflect real patient experiences
  • Build a stronger and more accurate online reputation

Important Notes

Protoqual does not offer incentives for reviews and does not edit or modify patient feedback.

Patients always choose whether or not to leave a review.

The goal is simply to make it easier for satisfied patients to share their experiences.

Getting Started

To enable review invitations, make sure each provider has a Healthgrades profile extension added to their Protoqual profile.
